Solíz Baffles Vancouver Batters
|
Tony Solíz hurled a fine game for the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC at Wolf Den in Vancouver today, holding the Vancouver Grey Wolves to 4 hits in a shutout win.
"When he started out, his command wasn't that good, but he's a tough guy," Thunder Bay manager Scott Williams said. "The more pitches he throws, the better his command is."
The right-hander had 4 strikeouts and 1 walk in the 2-0 victory.
"An outstanding job," Vancouver manager David Krause said. "We couldn't get anything going. Every time we got a hit, he got out of the jam. He pitched a terrific game."
