Northern Lions BC Beat Athletic Club KC in 10
|
The Athletic Club KC got a superb performance from designated hitter Todd Blake. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Thunder Bay. The Northern Lions BC won the game, 8-7. In spite of the loss, Blake was named the player of the game. He was 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Thunder Bay reliever Stewart Fleming picked up the win to move to 2-0. António Uribe suffered the loss. Tyler MacHugh picked up the save for Thunder Bay, his 1st of the year.
This game was not decided until late. With one out in the top of the tenth, Denis Higgins hit a sacrifice fly. The Northern Lions BC took the lead, 8-7.
"Nothing is scripted in this game," said Higgins.
Thunder Bay, now 5-9, is off to a slow start.
