Renaissance Topple BC with Late Rally
|
Behind a solid performance from center fielder Juan Cabrera, the Detroit Renaissance defeated the Philadelphia 1776 BC, 5-1. Cabrera was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Renaissance. Losses have been few and far between for the BC, who are now 7-2.
Cabrera had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 1-0 fastball from Raúl Melro, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Renaissance a 3-1 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Cabrera.
"We'll build on this win," said Cabrera.
