Gold Sox Continue Skid Thanks to Jones, Thundercats
The Richardson City Thundercats bested the Chicago Gold Sox, 13-6, at The Thunder Dome. Joey Jones was named player of the game. He went 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 5. Cordell Wilson picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 3-3. Jesús Tejeda was tagged with the loss. José Montalópez was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 4 of 7 save opportunities.

Jones had a big at-bat with the bases loaded in the bottom of the eighth inning, when he hit a grand slam. The Thundercats went on to win.

"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Jones said.
