Thundercats Prevail, 13-11, Over Chicago
|
The Chicago Gold Sox got a superb performance from right fielder Stanley Belote. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Richardson City. The Thundercats won the game, 13-11. In spite of the loss, Belote was named the player of the game. He went 4 for 6 with a home run and 3 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Héctor Alarcon picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 6-3. Steve Gardner was tagged with the loss. Júlio Saldaña was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 1 of 1 save opportunities.
The Thundercats got a big at-bat from second baseman Bruce Ingilby. For the game, Ingilby was 2-5 with 2 doubles. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 16th double of the season gave Richardson City a 8-7 lead.
"It wasn't our best performance," said Ingilby, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
Richardson City occupies 6th place in the Premier League at 53-54.
