Rainbow Mermaids Hope Opening Day Win Bodes Well for Season
|
The 2029 season began for the Austin Rangers with a loss to the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids at Rangers Stadium. The final score was 6-3. Northern Virginia pitcher Natalino Golaio earned top player honors. Golaio picked up the win for Northern Virginia, going 7.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 1-0.
Brett Callison, who is rated as the 94th best prospect by BNN, helped out the Northern Virginia cause in the top of the third inning with a run-scoring double. For the game, the third baseman went 1 for 4 with a double.
