Victory Pushes Rainbow Mermaids Record to 53-46
|
Roland Deschain had a good game, but he could not keep the Phoenix Hotspur from falling, 7-3, to the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids at Atlantica. The Phoenix second baseman went 4 for 5 with a triple, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs in the loss. The winner was Aurelio López, who threw 92 pitches over 5.2 innings. The right-hander was charged with 1 run on 7 hits. Northern Virginia is now 53-46.
Early in the game, right fielder Shohei Kiyomizu had a 2-run home run for Northern Virginia. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Rainbow Mermaids on top, 3-1.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Kiyomizu told the Northern Virginia Daily News. "It's as simple as that."
