Piranhas Prevail, 5-3, Over Richardson City
|
Panama City Piranhas starter Luis Flores pitched a strong game against the Richardson City Thundercats at The Thunder Dome, leading the Piranhas to a 5-3 win. Mark Valle notched his 24th save in 29 chances. The win puts the Piranhas at 50-40, while the Thundercats drop to 44-46.
Juan Jose Ayala had a big 2-run double for the Piranhas in the top of the second inning. With Panama City leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a fastball from Kaluka Wene and stroked the double to left. It was his 15th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Piranhas ahead, 3-0.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Ayala.
