Martínez Stars for Thundercats in 9-4 Win
|
A 7-RBI performance from first baseman Tomás Martínez, who leads the PL with a .950 OPS, led the Richardson City Thundercats to a 9-4 win over the Boston Patriots. The winner was Juan Valéncia, who threw 103 pitches over 6.2 innings. The right-hander was charged with 4 runs on 8 hits. Richardson City now sits at 41-43, while Boston falls to 48-36.
Martínez had a big at-bat with the bases loaded in the bottom of the sixth inning, when he hit a grand slam. The Thundercats went on to win.
"Being able to contribute to a win is always a great feeling," Martínez told the Richardson City Citizen.
