Northern Virginia right fielder Ed Adams was instrumental in his team's 8-1 win over the Boston Patriots. Adams, who is rated as the 14th best prospect by BNN, went 3-4 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Rainbow Mermaids. The Patriots, now 46-35, have lost 6 in a row.
Guillermo Arellano chipped in for Northern Virginia, stroking a crucial run-scoring single in the top of the second inning. For the game, the catcher was 2 for 4 with 2 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs.
