van de Weideven Dominant in Phoenix Win
|
It was a good time at Chase Field, where fans came to watch the Chicago Gold Sox and Phoenix Hotspur get after it.
Jaime van de Weideven was superb against Chicago. The right-hander, who is tied for 10th in the PL in innings pitched with 105.2, had a forkball that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a 3-1 Hotspur victory. The Hotspur own a robust 49-27 mark.
van de Weideven earned the win, going 7.2 strong innings for Phoenix. The native of Tera Kora, Netherlands Antilles allowed just 2 hits, while striking out 9. Chicago hitters did next to nothing against the right-hander.
"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," van de Weideven said.
