The Chicago Gold Sox topped the Richardson City Thundercats by the score of 9-5, with the biggest share of the credit going to left fielder Dewitt Hopper. Hopper went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Gold Sox on the day. Chicago reliever Rafael García was credited with the win, to go to 5-2. Júlio Martínez took the loss for Richardson City. Bruce Wright finished to wrap up his 4th save.

Hopper had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 1-1 fastball from Júlio Martínez, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Gold Sox a 6-4 lead. It was the 15th home run of the year for Hopper.

"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Brett Reichert said.
