Piranhas Subdue Wizarding, 3-1
|
John Dempsey never let the Express get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his curveball, to pitch the Piranhas to a 3-1 win. Dempsey, now 6-5, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 10, walking 4, and allowing 1 earned run. Mark Valle was called on to finish, recording his 18th save.
Andy Putman, who was drafted in the two round of the 2026 draft, helped out the Panama City cause in the bottom of the first inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the catcher went 2 for 4 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI.
Dempsey told a Panama City Bulletin reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
Panama City is now riding a 3-game win streak.
