Gold Sox Squelch Thundercats Offense in Shutout Win
|
Chicago left-hander Keisuke Nishida pitched his team to victory over the Richardson City Thundercats at Gold Sox Field. The final score was 3-0. In 7.1 innings, Nishida surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 0. He allowed no runs. Bruce Wright sewed up the save, his 2nd.
Also making an impact was center fielder Zeus Preckwinkle, who drilled a 2-run single in the bottom of the fourth inning for the Gold Sox. For the game, Preckwinkle went 1 for 3. He drove in 2 runs.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Chicago manager Brett Reichert.
After today's action, Chicago sits at 31-39, while Richardson City falls to 37-33.
