Victory Pushes Dutchmen Record to 58-47
|
J.J. Spencer pitched a gem to lead New Amsterdam to a 2-1 victory over the Houston 1837 BBC. In 8.1 innings, Spencer surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 0. He allowed 1 run. Glenn Butler got the save, his 27th in 29 chances.
David Pérez went 1-1 with a walk. He drove in 2 runs for New Amsterdam. The 26-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Mike Farrell. It was his 7th RBI of the season.
