Osterman Rips Houston for 5 Hits
|
Jon Osterman put on a hitting clinic today as the New Amsterdam Dutchmen dumped the Houston 1837 BBC 5-2 at Dutch Master Park.
The New Amsterdam center fielder made Houston defenders earn their pay, lashing Houston pitching for 5 hits in 5 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it."
"Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," Osterman said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch."
Jon Osterman doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Ricardo Suárez in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
Osterman is hitting .251 this year with 8 home runs and 35 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .316, 29 walks and scored 48 times.
