Stingers Stumble, Lose to Evergreens
|
The Portland Evergreens beat the Toledo Stingers, 10-3, at Evergreen Park. The Evergreens got a fine performance from first baseman John Ennis, who captured player of the game honors. He was 1-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. The Evergreens own a robust 76-23 mark.
Ennis had a big at-bat with runners on 1st and 2nd in the bottom of the second inning, when he hit a 3-run home run. The Evergreens went on to win.
"I was able to barrel up some pitches," said Ennis.
