Red Knights Lose to Stingers, 5-2
|
The Toledo Stingers grabbed a 5-2 win over the Capital District Red Knights at Pacesetter Park. Toledo catcher Enrique Pérez went 1-1 with 3 walks to earn player of the game honors. Lou Meadows was the winner. Over 5.1 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 6 hits, with 3 walks and 6 strikeouts. An Jang-Yop earned the save for Toledo, his 21st.
The Stingers got a big at-bat from designated hitter Dylan Carson. For the game, Carson went 2 for 5 with a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the second, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing double. His 10th double of the season gave Toledo a 3-1 lead.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Toledo manager TJ Reynolds. "It's usually not just one thing."
Toledo is now 47-49, Capital District 40-56.
