Bowties Snatch 4-3 Win
|
The Buckhead Bowties bested the Capital District Red Knights by a score of 4-3, with designated hitter Raúl Ruíz getting the main credit. On the day, Ruíz went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Bowties. Pompeyo Davalillo got the win, improving to 4-1. He worked 6.1 innings, giving up 2 runs on 8 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 2. Buckhead is now 37-52, Capital District 37-52.
Ruíz had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a 0-2 cutter from Luis Hernández, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Bowties a 4-1 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Ruíz.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Ruíz told a Buckhead Herald reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
