Bowties Beat Legion in 11
|
The Kingston Township Legion got a superb performance from pitcher Jon Briddon, but the Buckhead Bowties still won the game, 4-2. Briddon was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 8 innings of 5-hit ball. Buckhead reliever Tomás Vargas picked up the win to move to 2-3. John Riggleman suffered the loss. Buckhead is 34-44 and Kingston Township, with the loss, 32-46.
Buckhead took a 3-2 lead on José Valéncia's 101st hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which Valéncia hit in the top of the 11th, left Kingston Township pitcher John Riggleman visibly frustrated.
"We did a lot of things right," said Valéncia.
