Giroux, Red Knights Too Much for Hawks
|
The Capital District Red Knights bested the Chicago Hawks by a score of 7-5, with shortstop Arnold Giroux getting the main credit. On the day, Giroux went 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Red Knights. Capital District reliever Bob Roth picked up the win, upping his record to 5-4. Andrés Quezada absorbed the loss. Miguel Toro was called on to finish, recording his 11th save.
Capital District took a 6-4 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning, when Robert O'Connor hit a clutch 3-run home run to bring Red Knights fans to their feet.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Giroux.
Capital District, at 32-45, occupies 9th place in the Third League.
