Bowties Shut Out Evergreens
|
The Buckhead Bowties faced a tough opponent in Portland pitcher Ryan Peterson, but did just enough to pull out the victory at 5 Paces Park by a final score of 2-0. Peterson went 6.2 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Buckhead currently is in 9th place in the Third League at 29-39.
The game was on the line with two out in the top of the ninth inning, but Kyle Buckman didn't flinch. With runners on 1st and 3rd and Portland trailing 2-0, Buckman retired Charles Mathes to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Buckman, with a wink.
