Aviators Lose to 1837 BBC, 6-2
|
The Houston 1837 BBC defeated the Seattle Aviators, 6-2, in Menard's Third League action at Houston Grounds, with Houston third baseman Rubén Marino named player of the game. Alexis Zambaco was the winner. Over 8.2 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 4 hits, with 3 walks and 3 strikeouts. Houston occupies 11th place in the Third League at 22-36.
Marino had a key at-bat for Houston early in the game. With the bases loaded, he hit a 2-run double. It was his 6th double of the season and gave Houston an early 2-0 lead.
"I know we have our doubters," said Seattle manager Mau Delgado. "But I still have high hopes for this team."
