Evergreens Turn Back Buckhead, 4-2
|
The Portland Evergreens took Buckhead pitcher Martín Aguilar's best shot and still were able to claim a win at 5 Paces Park. The final score had Portland getting past the Bowties, 4-2. Aguilar went 6 innings and allowed 1 earned run, striking out 4. Shinzo Kumagai earned the save for Portland, his 3rd of the year. The Evergreens own a robust 37-13 mark.
Bubba Blevins, the 21 overall pick in the 2022 draft, helped out the Portland cause in the top of the eighth inning with a 2-run single. For the game, the second baseman went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"I really like what we did out there today," Blevins said after the game.
