Express Suffer 6-1 Loss to Patriots

The 2029 season is getting ugly for Wizarding.
The exploits of catcher Timmy Appeldoorn helped the Boston Patriots defeat the Wizarding Express, 6-1. Appeldoorn was 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Valentín Rivera, who went 7.2 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 1 run on 5 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 2. His record now stands at 2-2. Doug Carlton was credited with the save for Boston, his 2nd of the season.
Boston designated hitter Sotaro Sakata contributed to the cause with a run-scoring double in the top of the fourth. For the game, Sakata was 2 for 3 with a double and a walk, while scoring 2 times.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Appeldoorn, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
Boston is now 38-24, while Wizarding is 21-41.
