Late Rally by Stingers Secures Win
|
The Toledo Stingers faced a tough opponent in Kingston Township pitcher Shigemasa Horiuchi, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Pacesetter Park by a final score of 3-2. Horiuchi went 7.2 innings and allowed 1 earned run. The win was credited to An Jang-Yop in relief. His record improves to 5-2. John Riggleman took the loss. The Stingers bumped their record to 21-19 with this latest triumph.
Toledo won the game in the bottom of the ninth inning. With one out and John Riggleman on the mound for Kingston Township, designated hitter Michael Neely hit a dramatic 2-run home run, bringing Stingers fans to their feet.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Neely said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
