Rangers Prevail, 5-3, Over Richardson City
|
The Austin Rangers bested the Richardson City Thundercats, 5-3, at Rangers Stadium. Freddy Torres was named player of the game. He went 2-3 with a home run and a triple. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Austin reliever Weston Fisher picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Armando Gonzáles absorbed the loss. The Thundercats, now 34-27, have lost 5 in a row.
One important at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd in the bottom of the seventh inning. Facing Richardson City hurler Dave Reed, Tony Hernández grounded out. The Rangers went on to win.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Austin manager Jordan Calhoun.
