Aviators Fall to Stingers, 3-1
|
The Toledo Stingers faced a tough opponent in Seattle pitcher Zach Rediker, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Boeing Dome by a final score of 3-1. Rediker went 9 innings and allowed 3 earned runs. Chip Bishop got the win, improving to 2-2. He worked 7 innings, giving up 1 run on 6 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 3. Garrett Harrington got the save, the 4th for him this season.
Wapakoneta, Ohio-born Steve Ingram came through in the clutch. In the top of the fourth, with a runner on 1st and the Stingers trailing 1-0, he hit a 2-run home run to right to put Toledo on top.
"I play this game for myself and my family, but of course it's always nice when we can win," said Ingram.
Toledo is now 20-18. Seattle is 14-24.
