Panama City Piranhas starter Luis Flores was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Brooklyn Dodgers, 4-2. Flores got the win, improving to 2-3. He allowed 6 hits and walked 3 over 7.2 innings. Flores allowed 2 earned runs. The save went to Mark Valle, his 10th this season.
Armando Alvarado delivered a big hit for the Piranhas. The veteran shortstop belted a 2-run home run in the bottom of the first. The longball put Panama City on top, 3-0. Overall, Alvarado went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Flores.
The Piranhas now have a record of 22-23 with the win over Brooklyn.
