Rangers Suffer 6-2 Setback
|
Chicago Gold Sox starter Tom McKee kept the Austin Rangers hitters in check, leading his team to a comfortable 6-2 win. McKee, the winner, moves to 1-4. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 4 walks. Javier Dávila closed the game out for Chicago, earning his 1st save.
Chicago took the lead in the top of the sixth. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Manuel Guillama stroked a run-scoring single to make it 2-1, Gold Sox.
"We were the better team today. Maybe that won't be the case next game, but we'll enjoy it for now," McKee told the Chicago Chronicle.
Chicago has a 3-game win streak, while Austin has lost 4 in a row.
