Thundercats Slip Past Panama City, 3-2

Fans who came to The Tank watched the Richardson City Thundercats and the Panama City Piranhas fight to the finish.
The Panama City Piranhas got a sterling performance from pitcher Luis Flores, but the Thundercats still prevailed, 3-2. Flores was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 7 innings of 5-hit ball. The win puts the Thundercats at 25-15, while the Piranhas drop to 20-20.
Richardson City took a 3-2 lead on Eduardo Álvarez's 19th hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which Álvarez hit in the top of the tenth, left Panama City pitcher Mark Valle visibly frustrated.
"Against this team here, fangs out late in the game, it's nice to beat them," said Richardson City skipper Imran Kopitar.
