Late Rally by Patriots Secures Win
|
The Boston Patriots turned back the Brooklyn Dodgers, 5-4, at Dunkin Donuts Park. Sotaro Sakata was named player of the game for his fine performance. He went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. José Sánchez picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-0. Brandeis Vogt was tagged with the loss. The save went to Folkert van Huizen, his 10th this season.
Sakata had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a 0-1 fastball from Brandeis Vogt, he banged a 2-run home run to left-center, giving the Patriots a 5-4 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Sakata.
"I like our moxie," said Patriots manager Tyler Carter.
The Patriots have an impressive 25-13 record.
