Express Slip Past Chicago, 6-5
|
The Wizarding Express beat the Chicago Gold Sox, 6-5, at Platform 9 3/4. The win was largely due to the efforts of third baseman António Martínez, who captured player of the game honors. He was 4 for 5 with 4 singles and a walk. He scored 2 runs. The win was Dorian Daly's in relief. His record improves to 1-4. Jesús Tejeda took the loss for Chicago. Wizarding now owns a record of 11-21.
The game came to a sudden end. In the bottom of the tenth, with two out, Martínez drew a walk, driving in 1 run. It gave Wizarding the 6-5 walk-off win.
"We battled our tails off to get this win," said Wizarding manager Dan Cahill.
