Thundercats Continue Hot Start to Season With Win
The inspired effort of Austin catcher Jesús Vásquez was not enough to prevent a 6-4 loss to the Richardson City Thundercats. Vásquez went 4-4 with 4 singles. Armando Gonzáles got the win, improving to 2-0. He worked 7.2 innings, giving up 4 runs on 11 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 2. Richardson City now sits at 19-10, while Austin falls to 10-19.

The Thundercats got a big at-bat from left fielder Carroll Martin. For the game, Martin was 2 for 3 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fifth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 25th hit of the season gave Richardson City a 2-1 lead.
