Late Rally by Dodgers Secures Win
|
The Brooklyn Dodgers got a strong performance from pitcher Jesús Acosta, who stymied the Chicago offense en route to a 2-0 win at Ebbetts Field. The win was credited to Brandeis Vogt in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Bruce Wright took the loss. At 11-16, Brooklyn is in 7th place in the Premier League.
A crucial at-bat came with the bases empty and no one out in the bottom of the eighth inning. That's when right fielder Oliver Aranda, who is tied for 10th in the PL in triples with 1, hit a double. The Dodgers went on to win.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Aranda, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
