Portland right-hander Roberto Calderón made an effective start against the Oakland Oaks at Oakland Coliseum, leading his team to a 3-1 win. The Evergreens, at 25-10, lead by one game in their division.
John Ennis put Portland in front, 2-0, when he hit a solo home run off Merlin Bassett in the top of the sixth. It was his 5th home run of the season.
