Hot Start Continues for Flamingos

Las Vegas turned a good effort from starter Toddster Gordo into a win over the Capital District Red Knights at The Strip. The final score was 5-2. Gordo picked up the win for Las Vegas, going 7.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 3-0. Picking up the save was John Brown, his 10th.
Chris McKinney delivered a big hit for the Flamingos. The veteran first baseman belted a solo home run in the bottom of the fourth. The longball put Las Vegas on top, 3-1. Overall, McKinney was 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times.
"It was a good effort all around," said Gordo.
The Flamingos, now 16-4, have played some good baseball in the early going.
