Bowties Win Again, Extend Streak to 6
|
The Capital District Red Knights got a superb performance from pitcher Raúl Luna, but the Buckhead Bowties still won the game, 3-1. Luna was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 7 innings of 6-hit ball. The win was credited to Ronald Harmon in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Raúl Luna took the loss. Joshua Long closed the game out for Buckhead, earning his 5th save.
The game was on the line with two out in the top of the ninth inning, but Joshua Long didn't flinch. With runners on 1st and 2nd and Capital District trailing 3-1, Long retired Orlando Velásquez to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Long, with a wink.
Buckhead, now 6-1, has gotten their season off to a good start.
