Hotspur Trip Piranhas in Extras
|
The Phoenix Hotspur picked up a win at The Tank, knocking off the Panama City Piranhas, 8-3. Starting pitcher Wes Hamm, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Phoenix reliever Scott William was the winner. His record is now 1-0. José Luján took the loss. Phoenix is now 15-7, while Panama City is 10-12.
Kyle Bywaters's at-bat in the top of the 13th inning was a big one for Phoenix. Coming to bat with two out, the bases loaded and Phoenix leading 4-3, the shortstop hit a bases-clearing double.
In postgame comments, Hamm said, "I think we gave the fans their money's worth."
