Philadelphia 1776 BC starter Cory Sanders was in fine form against the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC at Ben Franklin Memorial Coliseum, leading his team to a 4-3 win. Carlos Ramos picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 5-5. Stewart Fleming was tagged with the loss. Philadelphia 1776, at 49-52, sits in 7th place in the Silver League.
It could have been a different outcome for Philadelphia 1776, had it not been for José Rodríguez, the 24-year old center fielder . Rodríguez contributed a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the ninth inning to put Philadelphia 1776 up, 4-3.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Sanders, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
