Yoshimura Brings A-Game, Herons Beat Polar Bears
|
The Glendale Herons racked up a win at Heron Field, bumping off the Billings Polar Bears, 5-2. Yoriyoshi Yoshimura, who started for Glendale, pitched effectively for his team. Nick Riviera got the save, the 17th for him this season. Glendale now sits in 4th place in the Menard's AA at 51-34.
The standout performance belonged to 19-year-old Yoshimura. With his baby face, he looked more like someone starting for a high school team than for the Herons. His performance, however, was nothing short of top-notch. The youngster dominated the Polar Bears, striking out 5 and scattering 3 hits over 8 innings. Yoshimura is now 10-4 on the season.
"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," said Yoshimura.
