Great Stroke: Cardona Gets 5 Hits Sunday, August 15th, 2027 There are moments in a player's career that are etched into their memories forever. Carlos Cardona of the Springfield Shooters had one of those moments when he went 5 for 6 at the plate today in the 19-1 win over the Long Island Seawolves at Ballpark of Remsen. The 22-year-old catcher told reporters in the postgame interview, "This is a day I won't forget soon, but I'll settle to just get a hit or two every day... enough hits to hang around the league a little bit longer... like 10... 15 more years maybe." Carlos Cardona singled in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, hit a GRAND SLAM off José González in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 8th and walked in a run in the 9th.
