Shankland Hits 2 home runs in Thunder Hawks Win
The Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks trumped the Atlantic City Sonics, 8-3, at Thunder Hawks Ballpark. Ft. Polk South first baseman Gregory Shankland was named player of the game for his performance. He went 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Neil Franson got credit for the win, improving to 2-0. He allowed 3 runs on 8 hits in 5 innings. With the win, the Thunder Hawks improved to 54-46.

Shankland came through with some timely hitting for Ft. Polk South. With the score 1-0 in the bottom of the second and one down, Shankland hit a full count fastball for a 3-run home run. It was his 6th home run of the season -- and a big reason the Thunder Hawks managed to win.
