Thunder Hawks Take Down Seawolves, 7-4
|
The Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks had to overcome a big game from Long Island left fielder Sheldon Deshotels to leave Ballpark of Remsen with a 7-4 victory. Deshotels was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. César Vásquez picked up the win, improving his season record to 6-10. He struck out 7 in 5.2 innings. Joey Hamman picked up the save for Ft. Polk South, his 10th of the year.
Also making an impact was first baseman Will Huggins, who drilled a 2-run single in the top of the fifth for Ft. Polk South. For the game, Huggins went 1 for 3 with a walk, while adding 3 RBI.
"We found a way to get it done," Huggins said.
Ft. Polk South, at 47-43, sits in 4th place in the Menard's AA.
