The Long Island Seawolves overcame a good performance by Ft. Polk South third baseman Peter Agulera to knock off Ft. Polk South, 5-3, at Ballpark of Remsen. Agulera went 4 for 4 with 4 singles. Vinny Mariani earned his 8th save in 10 chances. Long Island now has a 3-game win streak.
Long Island grabbed control in the bottom of the seventh. With two out and the bases loaded, Michael van Berkel delivered a 2-run single, to make it 5-3 in favor of the Seawolves.
Ft. Polk South manager Howard Martínez said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
