Shortstop Blumer goes 3-for-3 in Win
|
The Atlantic City Sonics stymied the Richland Rails, 6-0, at Rails Ballpark. Thurman Blumer, who had a good day at the plate, was named player of the game. He was 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for Atlantic City. Atlantic City is 35-48 and Richland, with the loss, 39-44.
Todd Blankenburg drove in one run for Atlantic City. The 24-year old right fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the third. That's when he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Scott Mildren. It was his 17th RBI of the season.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Atlantic City Sonics manager Yoshifumi Kamuta.
