Richland got a terrific game from designated hitter Pablo Coloa. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Ottawa, 6-5. Coloa was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Preston Connely earned the win for Ottawa. He lasted 6.2 innings, allowing no earned runs on 6 hits, while striking out 5. With the win, he raised his record to 4-4. The Nationals sit in last place in the Menard's AA with a record of 31-49.
Ottawa took advantage of an error in the top of the third inning. The game was tied, 0-0, when Howard Fewell hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put Ottawa in front, 1-0.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Ottawa manager Ron Mathews.
