Seawolves Best Grasshoppers in Pitching Duel
|
The Long Island Seawolves got a magnificent performance from pitcher Jasper Sanders, who muffled the San Bernardino offense en route to a tight 2-1 Seawolves win at Field of the Grasshoppers. Sanders got the win, improving to 2-5. He allowed 3 hits and walked 4 over 7 innings. Sanders allowed 1 earned run. Long Island bumps their record to 42-36 with the win.
Long Island grabbed a 2-1 lead in the top of the third when Pedro Colón hit a run-scoring single. For the day, Colón went 1 for 3 with a walk.
"I've been criticized for being a slacker, but the one thing I do care about is winning," Sanders told the Long Island News.
