Loss Extends San Bernardino Losing Streak
|
The Richland Rails and San Bernardino Grasshoppers obliged those fans who came to Field of the Grasshoppers hoping for an exciting game.
Valentín Salas added some punch to the Richland offense, helping them outmuscle the San Bernardino Grasshoppers, 8-7. In the game, Salas was 2-3 with a double and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times. Juan Ordóñez got credit for the win, improving to 4-3. He allowed 3 runs on 8 hits in 5 innings. Russ Melton earned the save, his 10th, for the Rails.
One important at-bat came with a runner on 1st in the top of the second, when Salas hit a double. The Rails went on to win.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Salas.
The Grasshoppers, now 30-34, have lost 7 straight.
