Thompkins Sensational for Sonics

Fans who gathered at Nationals Park saw a good contest between the Atlantic City Sonics and Ottawa Nationals.
Atlantic City rode a good effort from starter Elroy Thompkins to beat the Ottawa Nationals at Nationals Park. The final score was 1-0. Alfredo Muñóz nailed down his 9th save.
Thompkins earned the win, going 8 strong innings for Atlantic City. The right-hander allowed just 1 hit, while striking out 7. Ottawa hitters had little success against him.
"Elroy was throwing strikes, locating well," said Atlantic City manager Yoshifumi Kamuta.
With the win, the Sonics improved to 20-32.
